Community Telephones – How to apply

Please note:  The chance to apply for a phone has completed. June 30 2012.

How to apply

1.    Become informed about this project and talk about it in the community.

2.    Download the brochure and talk to people in your community/outstation about getting a phone.

3.    Download and hand out posters about it to talk.

4.    Call Michelle and Paul 0418 750 236  or email them learningfutures@ozemail.com.au.

5.    Download the application form.

Michelle and Paul will ask to visit your community/outstation so they can draw maps of the best place to put phones, solar panels and other parts of the phone. They also need to get exact GPS locations and write instuctions for installation.

Two people will need to sign the form to apply for the phone – a community representative and a state Government employee.

2010 progress

During 2010, it is anticipated all eligible communities on Cape York will be identified. Contact Paul and Michelle (0418750236 or learningfutures@ozemail.com.au if you have not yet been contacted.

Paul and Michelle expect to visit all regions of Cape York as weather and roads permit by August 2010. Michelle and Paul will be delighted if you call them and ask them to visit you.
